Pregnancy week 26

At 26 weeks pregnant you are almost through with your second trimester! The great development this week is that your little munchkin has started making breathing movements.

Pregnancy week 25

At 25 weeks pregnant, your baby weighs 800 grams and measures about 33 cm long from crown to toe. She is as long as an eggplant and the big development this week is that your baby has gotten a sense of equilibrium.

Pregnancy week 24

At 24 weeks pregnant, Your little munchkin has now taken the form of a newborn baby. He now weighs about 700 grams, measures 32 centimetres long from crown to toe and may still be tiny but his little body features have formed. His little eyes, nose and mouth are almost clearly etched. His lungs are also slowly developing and branching out and his taste buds have developed.

Pregnancy week 23

At 23 weeks pregnant, your little bundle of joy is still on a growth spurt. She now weighs about 560 grams, measures about 30 cm long from crown to toe and is about the size of a large mango or paw paw. Expect her to double this weight over the next four weeks.

Pregnancy week 22

At 22 weeks pregnant, baby has taken the form of a newborn but he is still quite skinny. His eye brows, lips, nose and ears are fully formed and are becoming more defined. The hair on his head is continuing to grow, his skin is still translucent and he needs to pile up some fat.

Pregnancy week 21

You are now 21 Weeks Pregnant. Every so often, you can feel your little munchkin making fluttering movements. Feeling your flesh and blood move inside you will be one of the most magical experiences on this journey.

Pregnancy week 20

20 weeks pregnant

Congratulations you’re now 20 weeks pregnant! You are halfway through this amazing journey. The great news this week is that now an ultrasound done by your doctor in Kenya can show whether the little munchkin that is growing inside you is a boy or a girl. While he started moving around when he was around six weeks, he is now big enough and you can feel him kick and squirm in your belly. That must fill you with so much joy.

Pregnancy week 19

Your baby’s fastest-growing part by the time you are 19 weeks pregnant is the sensory nerves.

Pregnancy week 18

You are 18 Weeks Pregnant and halfway through your fourth month. This week your baby has learnt to yawn and his nervous system is also fast maturing. His ears are now in their final position and his chest is moving up and down as he mimics breathing.

Pregnancy week 17

At 17 weeks pregnant, your baby’s sweat glands are starting to develop. Her skin is still translucent but body fat is slowly beginning to form underneath her skin. This development will continue to the end of the pregnancy as the fat deposits keep her warm.
