Pascal Koenig

Co-Founder and Executive Chair

After starting his career as a consultant at McKinsey, Pascal built three startups in the digital health space. The last one – women’s health company Ava – grew to a team of 100+ people working on three continents, generating eight-digit USD revenue during Pascal’s tenure as CEO. Pascal has been frustrated by the inefficiencies and poor outcomes of the pregnancy journey, and co-founded Malaica to change this.

Fun Fact:
Pascal thought about working in Nairobi when he first visited the city in 2000. It took him more than 20 years to actually do it 😀

Victor Ndegwa

Co-Founder and CTO

Victor is a Computer Science graduate from the University of Nairobi with close to 20 years of experience building IT solutions. He has worked as a software developer and IT consultant across various industries and founded several tech companies, including software development consultancies and SaaS businesses. Currently, he leads Malaica’s tech development, driven by a desire to improve healthcare systems and impact millions of women.

Fun Fact or Personal Interest:
Victor is a classic car enthusiast, having owned and restored a 1972 VW Beetle

I love working at Malaica because it allows me to use my tech expertise to improve healthcare systems and potentially make a difference in the lives of millions of women, alongside a smart, driven, and supportive team. Being part of this mission-driven environment is incredibly rewarding.

Quality Assurance Manager

Hellen is a qualified KRCHN/BScN, and has over 10 years of experience in Healthcare with over 5 years in Midwifery expertise. Passionate about Maternal and Child Health and keen on reducing the cases of Maternal and Neonatal Mortality rates in Kenya and in the World at large.

Fun Fact:
Hellen loves her personal space and so do not like travelling.
